Climbers Mike Reardon, Mike Anderson, Greg Lowe, Jeff Lowe, Ron Olevsky, and I raised big bucks for Ogden Climbing Parks.
The first annual ClimbFest – Ogden!, whose goal was to, “to promote the joy of climbing and preserve the crags,” featuring presentations and films by:
Michael Reardon – the world’s top free-soloist – bona-fide rockstar, Hollywood producer, hilarious personality and sick-ass climber.
Mike Anderson – leading desert Big Wall free climber (he’s not bad on granite either, having done the first no falls, first try ascent of El Cap’s Freerider VI, 5.12+).
Pete Takeda – Award-winning author of An Eye At the Top Of the World
Greg Lowe – inventor, genius, and post-modern renaissance man with his Academy Award-nominated short film, Fall Line
Jeff Lowe – American climbing legend with clips from forty years of mountain adventures.
Ron Olevsky – Maverick mystery man and desert climbing pioneer.
A Saturday, April 28, 2007 casual bouldering session and spring clean-up at the local boulders was followed by an afternoon session with snacks at the Timber Mine Restaurant
The evenning event featured a Fund Raising Dinner and auction: with slide show and film by Takeda from AN EYE AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD. The event raised funds for Ogden Climbing Parks, a 501c(3) Nonprofit organization.
