A Visit To The Set Of THE ROAD

On May 14 through May 15th, my future producers flew me to the filming location of THE ROAD. The venue, near Astoria, Oregon, provided the perfect atmosphere for Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic drama. I was lucky enough to meet Viggo Mortensen (who shed 20 pounds for his role) and also catch the excitement building on the set, as the film comes on the heels of the Cohen brothers Oscar-winning rendition of McCarthy’s NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. McCarthy himself, on the set a day prior to my visit was reportedly moved nearly to tears by the ongoing production of his Pulitzer-winning novel.
